Reproductive Loss Grief Care

Grief care after abortion, placing for adoption, miscarriage or stillbirth

“Miscarriages are very common, occurring in 15 to 20 percent of pregnancies.” (SOGC, Miscarriage)

“Roughly 1 in 3 women in Canada will have an abortion during their lifetime.” (Government of Canada, Abortion in Canada)

The opportunity to process and grieve the difficult circumstances of reproductive loss is often denied to women and men. At Aide Grossesse, trained facilitators provide individual and group support to meet people as they process their emotions and pursue well-being.

Reproductive loss grief care includes:

  • Group sessions tailored from 3 to 6 people maximum.

  • One, 1 1/2 hour session per week for approximately 9 weeks, with some “homework” to do on your own.

  • Topics include: Acknowledgement of your loss, Share your story, Recognizing losses and unhealthy behaviours, Exploring emotions, and more.

  • We use the “Coeurage Reproductive Loss Grief Care” curriculum.
