Ongoing Support

“Better health is associated with support from families, friends and communities. Some studies conclude that the health effect of social relationships may be as important as established risk factors such as smoking, obesity, high blood pressure and a sedentary lifestyle.” (Health Canada, The Population Health Template)

Choosing to carry a pregnancy is committing to a journey that requires support no matter your circumstances. The intervenante and client will complete a holistic assessment and create a plan of action. Centre staff and Church Care Groups will be available to provide ongoing care and accompaniment.

Resources and Referrals
Clients may need help to budget their finances or apply for government supports for families. They may need help to access basic necessities like diapers, wipes, or formula, or to address social or physical challenges. Support Workers may make referrals to other community groups and services to meet the needs of the client.

« When I found out I was pregnant, I knew I couldn’t do it alone. The support and community I found through the pregnancy centre made all the difference to help me move forward with strength. »
— Geneviève, pregnancy center client

Birth parent support
For those who feel that abortion is not the choice for them, but also feel they are not at a place in life to raise a child, there is the option of adoption. Though adoption is one of the three pregnancy options, it is not well understood or resourced, and is rarely accessed in Quebec. Aide Grossesse is able to provide comprehensive support for birth parents through the pregnancy, at the time of delivery, during placement and while the adoption process is completed, as well as onward as the client takes their next steps forward.

PLEASE NOTE: Aide Grossesse is not a medical facility. Our services are meant to complement, not replace, professional medical care. Aide Grossesse does not provide confirmation of pregnancy, contraception, ongoing pregnancy follow up, abortion procedures, or adoption placements. We direct clients to the applicable Government of Quebec access points to obtain these services.
